Topics
Genetically Modified Crops
Join in on the discussion as this is a highly contentious
area in some parts of the United States! This section
provides an overview of genetic modification of seeds,
crops, row crops and other food items. However, as some
crops may be grown in areas that are in proximity to
unmodified crops or organic crops, the farmer may be at risk
for contamination claims and other insurance-related issues.
We will explore the risk areas and provide insurance
solutions to the attending agents for review with their
customers.
Pollution Risk Faced by Agricultural Accounts
Agricultural risks have unique pollution exposures such as
ground and aerial spraying, crop burning, discharge from
equipment, hostile fires and more. Marjorie will provide you
with an overview of these risks faced by farmowners,
ranchowners, production facilities, processors and warehouse
operators. Find coverage answers found in both the standard
farm policies as well as specialized pollution policies.
Learn about one of the fastest growing insurance products in
the marketplace and be the expert in your office!
EPLI and the Ag Account
Review the social and legal exposures of working with farm
laborers. You
will focus first on the various federal statutes that govern
the interaction
between farmowner and employee. The next section emphasizes
the
Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. Next is a review
of The
Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act
(MSPA). We
will then conclude with a general discussion on farm hazards
and risk
reduction of potential injury, including driving hazards,
hazardous
substances, and equipment risks.
Ethics In the Insurance Industry
Take a look at various ethical theories, societal ethics and
how these relate to the attendees personal life and
responsibilities while acting as an insurance agent or
broker. This course uses real examples of both ethical
and non-ethical behaviors in the insurance industry and uses
these examples to demonstrate ways to determine the correct
course of action when faced with similar situations.
